PLA activities in the waters and airspace around Taiwan

6 to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) Monday to Tuesday, Jan. 8-9

2.PLA activities：
10 PLA aircraft and 4 PLAN vessels around Taiwan were detected by 06:00 (UTC+8) today. 2 of the detected aircraft had entered Taiwan’s southwestern ADIZ. R.O.C. Armed Forces have monitored the situation and tasked CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems to respond to these activities.

3.PLA balloons：
Four PRC’s balloons were detected at 11:53, 13:58, 19:36, and 20:24 yesterday after crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait at the location 117 nautical miles west of Keelung, 155 nautical miles northwest of Pingtung, 170 nautical miles southwest of Keelung, and 172 nautical miles southwest of Keelung respectively. The balloons’ altitude were approximately 25,000, 33,000, 20,000, and 15,000 feet respectively. The balloons headed east and sequentially disappeared at 13:07, 16:00, 22:24 and 21:43 yesterday.
