The Naval Command issued a press release regarding the media report on "the preferred admiral of Tsai Ing-wen, Liu Chih-pin, is rumored to be incompatible with the Chief of the General Staff" (15th April, 2020)

In response to the report by Hsiao Jie-yun that "The preferred admiral of Tsai Ing-wen, Liu Chih-pin, is rumored to be incompatible with the Chief of the General Staff," the naval headquarters said today (15) that the content of the report is by no means factual.
The Naval Command further stated that Admiral Liu, commander of the headquarters, has closely cooperated and communicated with the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) since taking office without any gaps. All of the construction projects by the Navy have continued to be implemented according to the original plan, and Commander Liu completely participated in meetings for each of the IDS projects. The content of the report is purely fictitious and has been made up by the media; it is absolutely not factual.

The Naval Command emphasized that media outlets should perform their duties well with good self-discipline and must not speculate or make groundless accusation that mislead the general public and compromise unity and harmony within the Armed Forces.
