The Ministry of National Defense (MND) expressed their gratitude to the US for their firm commitment to security after President Biden agreed to provide US$571.3 million in defense support to Taiwan. In addition to military sales, the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) is another tool critical for Taiwan’s defense. To maintain the status quo, as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, Taiwan and the US will continue to work closely together on security issues. Details concerning the military support have been left unsaid due to the mutual understanding between the US and Taiwan.
