The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated that since 0600 hours today (21st), it had detected 25 sorties of various types of CCP aircraft, including J-10s, J-16s, H-6s, Y-8/9 anti-submarine aircraft, KJ-500 Air Early Warnings (AEW), and carrier-based helicopters and drones for sea-faring activities, 19 sorties of which crossed the median line of the Strait and extended to our southwest and southeast airspace. Another four CCP warships carried out combat readiness and patrol cruises and long-distance maritime voyages. The Armed Forces adopted joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance measures to stay abreast of developments, and dispatched mission aircraft, warships, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor the situation.
The MND emphasized maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the shared responsibility of all parties involved and also the focus of global attention. Any irresponsible, provocative actions that lead to a sharp rise in tension and worsen regional security cannot be accepted by our country or the international community.
