The US issued a news release on the sale of "Patriot Missile Engineering Services" to our country
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (8th) that the US government will carry out the "notification to Congress" on February 7, Eastern Time regarding the "Patriot Missile Engineering Service" arms sale to Taiwan that amounts to $100 million, which is expected to take effect after one month.
The MND pointed out that the United States should continue to assist Taiwan in maintaining sufficient self-defense capabilities based on the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) and the "Six Assurances," which is the cornerstone for upholding regional stability. The MND would like to express its sincere gratitude for the arms sale decision.
The MND has further stated that this arms sale shows that the United States places great importance on our national defense and security, whereas both Taiwan and US should persistently consolidate their security partnership and jointly maintain peace and stability around the Taiwan Strait and Indo-Pacific region.
