Regarding the PRC’s Ministry of State Security’s claim that the Military Intelligence Bureau is “engaging in online operations to incite confrontation,” the Military Intelligence Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense stated today (October 10) that during Taiwan’s National Day period, the PRC’s dissemination of such false information is a habitual tactic long employed through various means to discredit the ROC Armed Forces. Its intent is to internally rally public sentiment and conceal its governance failures, while externally invoking domestic laws to systematically manipulate public opinion, create an image of long-arm jurisdiction, and undermine the morale of Taiwan’s military and civilians.
The Military Intelligence Bureau stated that it will continue, in accordance with intelligence policy guidelines, to meticulously execute intelligence collection and analysis tasks to safeguard the nation.
