Marine Corps Command issues a press release stating that "it had found a reserve barrel for a T75 light machine gun missing" (March 27, 2023)
Marine Corps Command stated today (27 th ) that the 66 th Marine Brigade under its
command had recently carried out inventory of weapons and ammunition as
ordered, and found a shortage of "a reserve barrel for a T75 light machine gun." As
such, Command has immediately set up a task force and informed the judicial office
to investigate the case. Marine Corps Command further noted that it will take a
serious approach to this case, cooperate fully with judicial investigations, conduct
in-depth reviews, and impose strict accountability. It will also continue to strengthen
internal management and control of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials,
and conduct detailed verification and inventories to ensure full transparency.
