The Ministry of National Defense issues a press release stating that activities of CCP aircraft and vessels were detected around the Taiwan Strait today (August 16, 2022)

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated (16th) that a total of 30 aircraft sorties (including 10 sorties crossing the median line of the Strait and extending to the southwest airspace) and five CCP vessel sorties were detected at 17:00. They continue to carry out joint combat readiness patrol around the sea area and airspace of the Taiwan Strait. The Armed Forces shall adopt mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor the situation and respond accordingly.
