The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (5th) that CCP aircraft (68 sorties) and warships (13 sorties) have continued to conduct frequent maneuvers around the Taiwan Strait and crossed the median line of the Strait at 17:00, which has seriously interrupted the status quo of the Taiwan Strait. The Armed Forces have adopted joint intelligence, and surveillance and reconnaissance systems to closely monitor the situation. Aside from broadcasting for expulsion the very first time, the Armed Forces have also resorted to air reconnaissance and patrol forces, naval ships, and shore-based missile systems to deal with the situation.
The MND has condemned CCP’s deliberate overstepping of the median line of the Strait as well as its intrusion into the sea area and airspace surrounding Taiwan. The Armed Forces will act resolutely to safeguard national security and protect democracy and freedom from being compromised.
