Press release of the Army Aviation and Special Forces Command

In response to media reports about "the incident of the replica Apache case! A plumber/electrician was caught taking photos when signing in to fix a water leakage", the Armed Aviation and Special Forces Command said today (19th) that the 601st Brigade under its authority had contacted plumbing/electrical workers at a camp contractor for repairs following a leak in a servicemen's dormitory. The workers were later caught filming using a secret recorder and posted images on their personal FB account. After checking the videos, they had filmed parts of the camp buildings, not any sensitive areas, and they were then deleted after the unit contacted the contractor.

The Army Aviation and Special Forces Command further stated that the plumber/electrician posted the photos of the camp on their personal FB account out of curiosity and to show off. If anyone posts photos of a military camp on their personal Facebook account it is likely the individual will be criminally liable for spying and leaking secret information pertaining to national defense, particularly if such photos contain sensitive areas or information. Command has not only informed the contractor of the seriousness of the fact, but also severed any future business relationship with the contractor.

The Army Aviation and Special Forces Command stressed that contractors should undergo security inspections when they enter a camp, turn off driving recorders, and be accompanied by unit personnel throughout the building according to the Management and Operation Regulations for Army Barrack Business and Stipulations. As the incident had occurred at the unit, Command is reviewing and considering the responsibility and fault of related staff, and will use this incident as an example to reinforce education for officers and soldiers so future contract personnel are escorted when conducting their work in the camp.
