Reserve Command issues a press release about media reports that "an accident resulted from the removal operation of a fire cylinder at the Northern Region Reserve Command"

Reserve Command of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (1st) that when the Jingping Compound of the Northern Region Reserve Command was carrying out tunnel sealing operations, as old Hailong fire cylinders were to be moved out today, loose gas leaked from the nozzles and resulted in five people getting injured. Among them, four had minor bruises and one had an open laceration on their knee. All five personnel have been sent to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Reserve Command emphasizes that it will conduct an in-depth review into the cause of the accident and take good care of those injured. Subsequent removal operations will be evaluated in advance or commissioned for out-contract handling. Command will use this case as an illustration of health and safety considerations for personnel when implementing engineering works.
