In response to media reports that "unidentified damages were found on the airframe surface of a

F-16 jet-fighter of the Air Force," Command stated today (20th) that when the F-16 fighter jet from the Hualien base of the Air Force completed training for the day the fuselage surface was found to have two scratches after landing, originally thought to have occurred during the firing of an aerial cannon. All other systems of the aircraft were considered to be normal.

Air Force Command further indicated that a task force has, in response to such incident, now carried out an inspection and investigation into the ammunition and cannon system to determine the cause and eliminate problems in the interests of flight safety.
