Naval Fleet Command issues a press release following news report that "a female non-commissioned officer stepped into the captain's room late at night" (September 6, 2021)
In response to media reports that "a female non-commissioned officer stepped into the captain's room late at night," Navy Fleet Command stated today (6th) that captain Commander Hong of the Yong Shun-class mine hunter was involved in an improper relationship. Command had initially verified it to be untrue; however, when non-commissioned officer Tsai entered the captain's office to maintain the computer for official affairs it was not an appropriate time of day. Once the administrative investigation is completed, the captain will be issued an administrative punishment according to the regulations and associated personnel's responsibilities will be reviewed. In addition, the female non-commissioned officer will be transferred from her current post.
Naval Fleet Command further stated that it will continue to strengthen the "barrack regulation between genders" for officers and soldiers, establish accurate understanding and concepts of law and discipline, and maintain military discipline.
