Naval Command issues a press release in response to media reports stating that "servicemen had sent intimidating and threatening texts via fake social exchanges" (September 1, 2021)
In response to media reports that "servicemen had sent intimidating and threatening texts via fake social exchanges", Navy Command stated today (1st) that a former soldier of the Communications Command did not perform his duties based on the regulations from January to May as investigated, and was determined to have violated the rules and procedures pertaining to discipline and performance of duties as well as internal management, and the unit completed the investigation. The serviceman was issued with a punishment of "two de-merits." Four cadres were also rendered appropriate punishment for having failed to conduct their supervisory responsibilities. In addition, it was also reported that a soldier was involved in a case of emotional disputes, intimidation, and violations of personal information. The case has now been placed under investigation by the judicial authorities.
Naval Command further stated that it will continue to strengthen the education of military (legal) discipline, implement internal management practices, and use the case as an educational means to avoid recurrence.
