The 6th Army Command: Due to sudden gurgling river-water, an armored car was trapped. Nonetheless, officers and soldiers were not in immediate danger as they had handled the situation properly. Both personnel and the vehicle were rescued.
The 6th Army Command stated that when an eight-wheeled armored vehicle from Guandu District was passing through the Baoli River as it carried out training operations from the Joint Operations Training Base today (10th), the armored vehicle stalled as an unexpected gurgling stream of water surrounded it. Fortunately, the leading cadres handled the situation properly and both personnel and equipment in the vehicle were quickly and safely evacuated. The vehicle was also pulled out of the stream without damage. As for the cause of the accident, it is currently being investigated and by a task force.
The 6th Corps pointed out that damage caused by this incident was limited as the situation was effectively controlled by a well-trained unit that followed safety and emergency protocol. As for follow-up measures, the vehicle will be repaired as soon as possible while all subordinates have been informed to maintain and strengthen training and risk prevention measures to ensure the safety of troops.
