Naval Command issues a press release in response to media reports stating "Kao Chia-pin, Naval Fleet Commander, will take early retirement and that is likely to affect the submarine construction process" (July 22, 2021)
In response to media reports that "Kao Cia-pin, will take early retirement and that is likely to affect the submarine construction process," Navy Command states today (22nd) that Vice Admiral Kao Chia-pin has applied for discharge. Despite discussions dissuading him from resigning by Command, Vice Admiral Kao indicated that he already has another career plan. Command will respect the Admiral's personal wishes and handle demobilization operations in accordance with regulations.
Naval Command emphasized that the construction project of a submarine is currently being implemented according to the planned schedule and won’t be affected by personnel turnover. Furthermore, the Navy will continue to uphold a prudent and rigorous attitude to manage risks as supervised by Legislative and Control Yuan to complete the submarine construction on schedule and to the required quality standards and calls on nationals for support.
