The National Defense University (NDU) issues a press release stating that "some improper pictures with a student from the School of Political Science and Warfare of the NDU was recorded illicitly during a remote teaching session" (July 19, 2021)
In response to the media report that "some improper pictures with a student from the School of Political Science and Warfare of the NDU was recorded illicitly during a remote teaching session", the National Defense University clarifies as follows:
When a student of the NDU was taking basic classes via remote video teaching at home this morning (19th), he was suspected of improper use of self-created videos and taking a virtual background of the class, resulting in private images being accidentally and illicitly recorded and uploaded. When it was brought to the NDU's attention, the NDU immediately contacted the family of the student and employed some counseling measures. The school has already carried out an investigation into those who further disseminated the material, and will transfer the case to the judicial authority in due course. The NDU urges the general public not to disseminate content of the film to avoid breaking the law.
The NDU further states that students involved will be severely punished according to school regulations as they grievously violated class discipline during the epidemic and compromised the school's reputation. In the future, the NDU will strengthen student information security education and the concept of law and discipline so a similar incident does not occur.
