In response to media reports stating that "a quarantine hotel is down on epidemic prevention manpower to the extent that MPs have become cleaners," MP Command stated today (28th) that epidemic prevention is the most important task right now. In face of the severe epidemic, the Armed Forces will work to dispatch manpower to support various epidemic prevention tasks, while Command expresses regret that the media report phrased its content in such a way.
MP Command pointed out that it has, based on the instructions of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), worked to integrate epidemic prevention needs of Taipei City, and Command will, within overall combat zone planning, support quarantine shelters in implementing various epidemic prevention and preparation tasks. Before support personnel to go out on duty, professional units perform demonstrations of how to put on protective clothing, and issue safety regulations. After their mission is completed, standard operation disinfection procedures are carried out to ensure the safety of officers and soldiers. The CECC also sends commanders to provide guidance on epidemic prevention on-site.
MP Command emphasizes that the Armed Forces have a duty to support epidemic prevention work, and will indeed implement pre-training education and safety protection measures as they do their best in epidemic prevention work.
