Press release by the 6th Army Command

In response to media reports that "more than a thousand people at Jinliujie camp are from Taipei and New Taipei City, and servicemen are worried that regular holidays may have gotten tied up in a loophole," the 6th Army Command stated today (22nd) that various epidemic prevention measures of Command are strictly implemented according to the regulations of the central government and the Ministry of National Defense (MND). At present, all units are maintaining normal combat readiness and training as well as vacation rotation among personnel to ensure the continuation of combat strength and the health and safety of all officers and soldiers.

The 6th Army Command points out that the command officers of all units will, based on their responsibilities for epidemic prevention, personally strengthen the promotion of key aspects of epidemic prevention, require officers and soldiers to reduce their outings after returning home, and strictly prohibit them from gathering in places with crowds before they leave camp. As they are to return to camp, it is also necessary for them to take their temperatures, and implement disinfection, and other epidemic prevention measures. If serviceman take a chartered vehicle back home, they must follow the principle of "multiple points for evacuation, separate timing and diversion" to avoid crowds, and must put on masks throughout the journey to prevent the epidemic from entering the camp and maintain the health and safety of officers and soldiers.

The 6th Army Command emphasizes that Command will, in face of the severity of epidemic, not only perform the training tasks for combat readiness, but also send out chemical and engineering troops to support important missions such as disinfection and epidemic prevention in counties and cities as well as reservoir dredging to combat zones. The Armed Forces shall unit with our nationals to confront various challenges, and Command calls on our nationals for support.
