Press release by Naval Maintenance Division Command

0915, 13rd May, 2021

Naval Maintenance Division Command elaborated today following the report (13th) stating that "an employee was dismissed for stealing waste cables, and won a reinstatement lawsuit."

  1. Regarding the alleged crime of theft by the reported personnel, the Kaohsiung Branch Court of the Taiwan High Court had previously ruled on November 28, 2019. Command had thus, based on the law, given out the penalty to discharge the employee.
  2. Of the aforementioned offender who filed the application to resume employment, the Supreme Court considered the offense to be a minor crime, and ruled that the case be awarded in favor of reinstatement. Command will honor the judicial decision.
  3. Command will use this case as the basis for continued military law education, and strengthen internal management to prevent similar situations from happening again.
