The 33rd Army Chemical Corps assisted China Airlines to carry out disinfection, and helped prevent the proliferation of the virus

(Covered by Chan Yan-Hua, Military News Agency, 2nd Taoyuan) Due to the recent recurrence of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in the country, the 33rd Army Chemical Corps in collaboration with the Environmental Maintenance and Inspection Division of Taoyuan had sent out officers and soldiers to China Airlines Park for profound disinfection to prevent the virus from spreading again.

Under the leadership of the commander, Colonel Gong Kung, the 33rd Army Chemical Corps not only dispatched a supervisory team and 30 servicemen, but also personnel de-contamination vehicles, spray disinfection machines, and gas disinfection machines to China Airlines Park for the disinfection operation. Personnel spread deep into the office area and outdoor environment for all-round disinfection to fully eliminate any chance of virus transmission. Furthermore, they also radiated their efforts outward from the center of the office to carry out comprehensive sterilization of the surrounding roads and environment to ensure no gaps in prevention remained..

Colonel Gong Kung said that the Chemical Corps do well in personnel self-protection, inspection, machine testing and pre-work drilling. Today, indoor disinfection of three buildings at the China Airlines Park was conducted from top to bottom and from the center radiating outwards. During the operation, groups of two enter the building to work. Before disinfection, China Airlines was asked to turn on the air conditioner so that the aerosol and disinfectant agents can spread around the room, allowing even the air conditioner to be properly and scrupulously disinfected as well. After the operation, servicemen withdrew from the building and personnel and equipment decontamination was then conducted.

China Airlines is most grateful to the Chemical Corps of the Armed Forces for their unhesitating deployment, so that both the military and civilians are united in their efforts to safeguard the safety of our nationals. The 33rd Army Chemical Corps had also assisted China Airlines in cleaning and disinfecting last year as it carried out related rescue chartered flights. It has always adopted the most professional and prudent attitude to ensure the health of our nationals.
