Naval Command issues a press release in response to media reports that "the Marine Corps has purchased parallel imports of boarding tool-kits. They failed to pass inspection and acceptance twice" (May 10, 2021)
In response to media reports that "the Marine Corps has purchased parallel imports of boarding tool-kits. They failed to pass inspection and acceptance twice", Naval Command explains today (10th) as follows:
- The bidding project of the Navy for boarding tool-kits is handled in accordance with the Government Procurement Act and legal procedures.
- In accordance with the contract specifications, the Navy has completed the first batch of inspection and acceptance operations for boarding tool-kits, and found that some items did not reach acceptance standards.
- The Navy will, based on the contract and laws, strictly require the manufacturers to perform or terminate the contract in order to protect the rights and interests of the Navy.
