Naval Command issues a press release in response to media reports that "the Marine Corps has purchased parallel imports of boarding tool-kits. They failed to pass inspection and acceptance twice" (May 10, 2021)

In response to media reports that "the Marine Corps has purchased parallel imports of boarding tool-kits. They failed to pass inspection and acceptance twice", Naval Command explains today (10th) as follows:

  1. The bidding project of the Navy for boarding tool-kits is handled in accordance with the Government Procurement Act and legal procedures.
  2. In accordance with the contract specifications, the Navy has completed the first batch of inspection and acceptance operations for boarding tool-kits, and found that some items did not reach acceptance standards.
  3. The Navy will, based on the contract and laws, strictly require the manufacturers to perform or terminate the contract in order to protect the rights and interests of the Navy.
