Tri-Service General Hospital elaborates on the report that “employees of the hospital are suspected of illegally taking masks and reselling them'' and “dealers are suspected of insurance fraud to embezzle from the hospital”

In response to media reports that "employees of the Tri-Service General Hospital are suspected of illegally taking masks and reselling them" and that "dealers are suspected of insurance fraud to embezzle from the hospital", the hospital has provided the following explanation today (19):
1.    This morning, the Shilin District Prosecutor’s Office has asked for documents to be transferred and carried out a search in relation to the procurement case on "Labor Outsourcing of Care-takers and Nursing Assistants" processed by the hospital during the period of 2017 to 2020, as well as objects of distribution for anti-epidemic masks (requisition). The hospital will fully cooperate with the prosecution for investigation.
2.     The entire case has now been processed into judicial procedures. If facts arise that indicate that any employees of this hospital have been involved in the violation of laws, they will be handled impartially in accordance with relevant regulations, and no leniency will be exercised.
3.     The hospital will make use of the opportunity in every meeting to strengthen promotion to all staff and servicemen with regard to the concepts of “Integrity and Ethics" and "Anti-Corruption and Scandal Prevention" in order to maintain the hospital’s reputation.
