In response to media reports that "the progress of the Domestic Shipbuilding Program of large-scale vessels has been delayed with no headway made. Only transport vessels have been launched on time", Naval Command explains today (10th) the situation as follows:
- To establish combat capability of sea-control in line with defense operations, the Navy has, with regard to the new generation of primary battleship-related weapons and equipment configurations, strictly and cautiously conducted selection operations based on current operational requirements. As such, the content reported by the media is not factual.
- The Armed Forces should continue to implement its national shipbuilding policy, and pragmatically promote the build-up of various projects by the Forces. While doing so, it calls on nationals for their continued support.
