Naval Command issues a press release in response to media reports that "article contribution by a naval counselor happened to divulge classified information, and it is likely that many people might be punished for it." (April 8, 2021)
In response to media report that "article contribution by a naval counselor happened to divulge classified information, and it is likely that many people may be punished for it", Naval Command explain today (8th) as follows:
- Confidentiality is the basic duty of military personnel, and Command has consistently requested officers and soldiers familiarize themselves with confidentiality regulations so they can implement various secrecy practices.
- The meeting today was a monthly work report on political warfare conducted by the political warfare department, which is not convened to focus on any particular case for review nor has any personnel been punished. Therefore, what the media report stated was not correct.
