In response to media reports that "a cluster infection was found at Douhuanping Camp in Miaoli, and servicemen were asked by their superior officers to keep it quiet,” Reserve Command strongly states today (4th) that this report is not factual. Reserve Command emphasizes that all individuals diagnosed with chickenpox have already returned home so that they can take care of their health, while contacts have been listed for isolation and quarantine. Meanwhile, the Command has strengthened camp sanitization measures. As of today, there are no new cases, and health monitoring results will be reported to the local health authorities and the epidemic command center of the Ministry of National Defense (MND).
Reserve Command states that it will continue to alert officers and soldiers to increase their vigilance against the epidemic, and avoid going to public places during vacations. They are also cautioned to strengthen self-protection, and implement health monitoring and sanitation measures to mitigate the risk of infection.
