The Ministry of National Defense stated today (28th) that Generals of the Armed Forces will be promoted on January 1, 2021, and the President has approved Major General Wen-Cheng Cheng and five other members to be promoted to Lieutenant General, and 25 members, including Colonel Chih-Yao Tang, to be promoted to Major General. These promotions will take effect on January 1, 2021.
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) notes that the promotion to Lieutenant General includes the following personnel: Wen-Cheng Cheng, Ching-Se Yang, Shih-Chiang Li, Chun-Chih Chang, Ching-Chih Hsu and five other members. The promotion to Major General includes Chih-Yao Tang, Chih-Wei Wu, Yong-Fu Chen, Lai-Yi Wu, Bo-Yang Hsueh, Yuan-Chuan Hsueh, Kung-Cheng Hung, Ming-Cheng Dai, Chung-Cheng Kao, Ying-Kai Chen, Yi-Ren Hung, Yi-Sheng Wu, Yi-Fong Tsui, Huan-Ya Pan, Tun-Jen Deng, Hung-Shih Chen, Chih-Hung Liu, Chia-Yueh Lin, Cheng-Hua Yang, Ling-Rong Kung, Shih-Yuan Chien, Chin-Ching Tsai, Tsung-Hsien Huang, Ching-Hua Hsieh, Chun-Chieh Cheng and more, totaling 30 individuals.
The MND further states that the promotion ceremony will be held at 9 am on December 29 (Tuesday) at the Armed Forces Officer's Club, and will be chaired by Minister Yen. Senior ranking military officers and family members of those being promoted are invited to the ceremony. The President has also been invited to give advice to encourage our military servicemen and boost their morale.
