The 10th Regiment: Soldiers will be placed in quarantine to contaminate spread
In response to the media coverage the media coverage titled “9 conscripts contracted chickenpox at Chengkungling Base,” the Army 10th Regiment made the following statements on the 17th of September:
-
Some conscripts affiliated with Brigade 104 were found to have contracted chickenpox in the beginning of September returned from their break to the barracks. They were immediately treated and were asked to stay home instead for recovery.
-
Epidemic control experts were delegated to control the personnel flow and assist with sanitation as well as monitor body temperature regularly and administer separated toilet access. There were media outlets stating that soldiers were asked to clean the quarantine rooms or measure their own temperature, which does not coincide with the truth and is dismissed by the military.
-
After they were diagnosed with chickenpox, doctors specializing infection diseases and health survey personnel were sent to the base for health training and disease survey in order to keep the disease from spreading.
-
Conscripts will be trained to develop more awareness and knowledge about infection diseases and the importance of environment sanitation.
