The 10th Regiment: COVID prevention measures are strictly applied to enrollment of all conscripts

With regard to the media coverage titled “Conscript in Chiayi failed to report contact history,"the 10th Army Regiment said that Infantry Brigade 257 conducted enrollment of conscripts of 117th Echelon on the 8th of September in accordance with the MND-stipulated COVID-19 prevention measures, asking all the conscripts to wear a mask and fill out a health declaration card in which they were required to report their travel and contact history. A conscript, Wang, did not report his contact with a family remember returning from a foreign country until he was tested prior to admission to the barracks. The receiving unit demanded that Wang’s conscription be postponed. All the other fellow conscripts on the same shuttle bus were quarantined to ensure they were free of infection.
The 10th Regiment said that it will keep asking all its subordinate units to follow applicable COVID-19 prevention measures required by the Central Epidemic Command Center and the Ministry of National Defense. It urged all conscripts to report honestly to have the virus contaminated.
