Air Force Command issues a press release in response to media reports that a "F-5 Fighter squadron has to rely on the Air Force to urgently source commercial parts and accessories to replenish its logistic supplies."
In response to media reports that a "F-5 squadron, for the most part, has to rely on the Air Force to urgently source commercial parts and accessories to replenish its logistic supplies", Air Force Command stated today (2nd) that all systems of F-5 aircraft can be repaired on their own, and the necessary equipment and facilities are also obtained through diversified channels such as military purchases and open contracts from the original producer, so that there is no risk of supply issues.
Air Force Command pointed out that it was confirmed that the Air Force had, in 2016 and 2018, stated its need to purchase and replace parts and accessories from the United States, which in turn responded and included them in the supplement control of logistics for parts and accessories. In addition, the Air Force has learned nothing about related information quoted by certain media sources on Jane’s Weapons, and is unable to make any comment.
Air Force Command emphasizes that the maintenance of F-5 aircraft as well as the equipment needed to conduct maintenance work and to operate the squadron, are normal, and nationals should be assured of this.
