Naval Command issues a press release with regard to media reports stating that "the morale of the submarine group was low" (November 1, 2020)
In response to media reports that "the morale of the submarine team was low", Navy Command stated today (1st) that the content of the report is completely speculative and inconsistent with facts.
Naval Command further stated that the project for the submarine to be locally produced is completed per the contract relating to major and subsidiary equipment, and the construction of the block manufacturing plant has been implemented according to schedule. Under committee supervision of Legislative and Control Yuan, it is expected that construction preparations will be completed according to schedule as well.
Naval Command emphasized that local construction of submarines has proceeded smoothly, and the morale of the submarine team is high. As for high-ranking military generals, their morale has nothing to do with the local construction of submarines, and the media reports are purely speculative and created by those who intend to undermine the unity of the Armed Forces. The media is therefore requested not to speculate, exaggerate, or mislead the public. The Navy will uphold a prudent and rigorous attitude towards risk control, and see through the submarine construction project, as scheduled, to a high quality. Nationals are called upon to support it.
