In response to media reports that "a sergeant was arrested red-tapped for trying to sell classified combat plans," the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (5) that the case was reported by officers and soldiers themselves. Once reported, the headquarters immediately notified the MP corps and informed the prosecutors' office for direction and investigation to stop the divulge of information in time and successfully prevent leaks. Those who were involved in the case were transferred to the judicial system and dealt with accordingly by law.

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) emphasized that the MND is thankful to the reports and investigations by the officers and soldiers, showing that the servicemen are vigilant in safeguarding security. In response to the leaks and violations of law, the headquarters will adhere to the principle of "not wronging or releasing unjustly," and all suspects are transferred to the judicial authorities for investigation in accordance with law. Furthermore, the MND will continue to strengthen its confidentiality and legal education for military personnel to ensure our national security.
