National Defense University issued a press release regarding the media coverage titled “Married male colonel at NDU caught hiking with a female subordinate hand-in-hand”

In response to the media coverage “Married male colonel at NDU caught hiking with a female subordinate hand-in-hand,” National Defense University (NDU) said on July 25th that they have completed their investigation upon notice and found no unethical behaviors in the barracks. The alleged inappropriate contact outside the campus, however, has been found in violation of the Protocol of Military’s Interpersonal Relations & Behaviors for not following proper guidelines on interactions between a superior and a subordinate. The University convened a disciplinary meeting, in which both of the accused were given a major demerit mark on record and ordered to be transferred from their current positions in hopes of warning those around them of more discretion.

NDU noted that it will continue to strengthen the importance of discipline and advocate gender equality on campus so that their faculty members and students will behave appropriately and legally to protect our reputation.
