The Air Force Command Headquarters issued a press release with regard to the media coverage titled “PAC-3 Re-certification project not approved by MND”
In response to the media coverage “PAC-3 Re-certification project not approved by MND,” the Air Force Command Headquarters said on July 20 that it has reviewed the matter with the affiliated Air Defense and Missiles Command (ADMC), which did not execute the project in accordance with the Guidelines for Military Annual Budget for Operations & Maintenance and requested for procurement of replacement components from the US without prior approval, which is the virtue of the administrative negligence.
The Air Force Command Headquarters has ordered that all supervisors in charge of the project both at the Headquarters or the ADMC be subject to disciplinary actions.
The Headquarters does and will always follow the guidelines with regard to the annual maintenance cost allocated by the military and carry out budget planning on a yearly basis based on actual demand. A pricing agreement will be signed only upon approval by the Legislative Yuan.
