The Navy Command Headquarters issued a press release regarding the media coverage titled “Procurement bid for Marine Corps vessel boarding tool kits won by company with bribery record” (July 12, 2020)

In response to the media coverage titled “Procurement bid for Marine Corps vessel boarding tool kits won by company with bribery record,” the Navy Command Headquarters said on July 12 that the project has been conducted in accordance with procurement protocol tailored to actual demand and that the project was open for bidding based on applicable law. The review and selection of bidding contenders has been carried out in accordance with the Government Procurement Act.
Participating contenders meeting eligibility requirements were shortlisted based on their competitiveness. 10 experts and 5 internal staff members were invited to form a review committee. No contenders raised any objections on the day of the bid opening. The Navy reiterated that the said procurement process conforms strictly to the Government Procurement Act and the Navy, as always, carries out its duties base on rule of law.
