Air Force Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “Air Force Procured New Fighter Aircrafts, Legislative Yuan Budget Center Worries the Lack of Pilots”.
Regarding the media coverage of “Air Force Procured New Fighter Aircrafts, Legislative Yuan Budget Center Worries the Lack of Pilots”, the Air Force Command Headquarters has provided the following explanations today (7th):
1. The Air Force Command Headquarters has completed the project review regarding the requirements of additional wing personnel and the benchmark of manpower compilation, in order to satisfy the needs of emerging forces, and is being incorporated into the “5-year Compilation Requirement Program”, where the compilation of a combat force can be completed on time.
2. The training standard of the United States Armed Forces has been referred to in order to respond to the pilot requirements for the new fighter aircrafts, where active F-16 pilots are able to shoulder combat readiness only through a different training in moderate duration. In addition, flying personnel has been added each year according to the ratio of various primary fighter aircrafts to facilitate overall elevation of combat capability.
3. Citizens can be rest assured that in order to retain flying personnel for the satisfaction of manpower requirements, apart from improving on the working environment and work load of flying personnel, renewal bonus for flying officers has been planned and adjusted for the purpose of significantly intensifying their willingness in renewing their services on ensuring the aviation security of the Taiwan Strait.
