The Air Force Command releases press release to explain “following searching status of the F-16 fighting aircraft” (June 5th, 2018)
The Air Force Command stated today (5th) that as of now, a S-70C helicopter, an AS-365 helicopter of the National Airborne Service Corps, 84 vehicles and machines and 462 people of policeman, volunteer firemen, ROC Rescue Team, Army Special Forces, Navy, Air Force and Communications Electronics and Information Force are dispatched for the following search work of the F-16 fighting aircraft at the crash area.
The Air Force Command further stated that part of the body remains and personal military equipment of Major Wu have been found today and submit to special unit for sample comparison, and they have authorized the Armaments Bureau to complete the measurement of the longitude, latitude, altitude and gradient of the crash location for further investigation, and have started the excavation of the crush location and have found aircraft cannon, auxiliary fuel tanks, pylon racks, landing gear, and beacons (including batteries), etc.; they will keep coordinating ROC Rescue Team and the Army Special Forces to search the steep slope area.
The Air Force Command stated that the ministry have established Aircraft Crash Investigation Committee and lettered Aviation Safety Council of Administrative Yuan to assist the investigation to explore the true cause of the accident objectively and fairly.
