The Navy Command releases press release regarding the media report “the Navy unexpectedly occurred procurement corruption scandal, interrogated former Command Officer” (March 14th, 2018)
In response to the media report “the Navy unexpectedly occurred procurement corruption scandal, interrogated former Command Officer”, the Navy Command said today (14th) that the procurement is about the lease of fishing boat for “Hanguang Tongxin Exercise” in 2014, and it has been listed for investigation by Keelung District Prosecutors Office in 2015, and yesterday (13th) the Case Officer (Supervisor) and related personnel was interrogated for further inspection of the case.
The Navy Command emphasized that “prevent and eliminate corruption and fraud, perform administration duties with compliance” is the key tasks and goals of the national army, and the Navy upholds the principle of “no mistaken accuse and no pamper” to cooperate with the prosecution. In case of any violation of the law, related personnel are liable according to the law without any tolerance. We will continue to put effort for reforming and eliminate bad practice to maintain pure military milieu.
