Guangchi Gao Consoled Medical Personnel in Tri-Service General Hospital and Encouraged Them to Exert the Maximum Medical Capacity (July 7, 2015)

Today, Minister of Ministry of National Defense Guangchi Gao visited Tri-Service General Hospital to console the medical team, which took on the treatment for dust explosion in Ba-Xian Water Park, and recognize their immediate participation in emergency treatment with appropriate grouping and comprehensive teamwork. The medical team spared no effort to carry out rescue and medical treatment for burn patients and ensured their health and life safety, exerting the capacity of medical personnel in the national armed forces.
In the morning, Minister Gao, accompanied by Director General of Political Warfare Bureau General Wang, Ming-Wo and General of Medical Affairs Bureau Wu, Yi-Chang, visited Tri-Service General Hospital to award units consolation money and conferred letters of appreciation on Dr. Chou, Tsung-To, Head Nurse Fu, Yi-Yun, and Supervisor Chen, Hui-Ju, who had retired or had taken leaves for retirement but returned to the hospital to assist in treatment. Such spirit was worth admiring.
Minister Gao indicated that after the dust explosion in Ba-Xian Water Park occurred, Tri-Service General Hospital and its branches immediately activated the emergency treatment mechanism. When victims were continuously sent to the hospital, medical personnel still systematically checked wounds, accepted victims, and carried out medical-related disposal. Doctors, nurses, social workers, and administrative personnel all carried out their duties, supported each other, and took on the tasks without fearing for hard work. Specifically, three medical personnel awarded letters of appreciation contacted the hospital actively in order to carry out medical care and devote themselves to spreading the warmth.
Minister Gao further stated that this would be a long-term task, and encouraged Tri-Service General Hospital to exert the maximum capacity and uphold the love and patience to perform the task well. In addition, Minister Gao also asked related units to strengthen the “manpower dispatch” and “material distribution” and “apply for budgets”, allowing the front-line personnel to engage in the subsequent medical treatment wholeheartedly.
