    The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (18th) that the Political Warfare Bureau (PWB) received reports from officers and soldiers in 2022 that brothers whose surname is Hsu were involved in promise of gain by luring and inducing servicemen to steal classified secrets of the Armed Forces. The PWB notified the Integrated Investigation Bureau and National Security Council to jointly conduct an investigation. The case was later reported and submitted to the Tainan Branch of the Taiwan High Prosecutor's Office for investigation and to crack down on illegal communist espionage organization and networks.

    The MND has responded to the potential leakage of classified information in the case and adopted meticulous damage control measures to reduce the impact. The MND will continue to educate officers and soldiers to strengthen security vigilance, strictly screen and check internal control mechanisms, and help service personnel to establish prudent financial management to jointly safeguard our national defense in confronting spying and infiltration by communist China.
