    On September 4, in response to media reports regarding a certain retired general being invited to Hong Kong to attend an event held by the Chinese authorities, which would constitute a violation of national dignity, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) announced that it would launch investigations. The MND has approached the National Security Bureau, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Justice, Mainland Affairs Council, and Veterans Affairs Council to conduct further examinations, and will carry out punitive measures based on the findings.

    To uphold national security and dignity, the MND reminds all retired military personnel to exercise caution in their words and actions and to refrain from participating in any events hosted by China.
