Army Command stated today (16th) that when two officers, including the deputy commander of the 8th Field Army Command and the Commander of the Reserve Command for Pingtung County, attended a civilian dinner a few days ago complaints were made against them due to inappropriate behavior. After Army Command learned about the complaint, it immediately put in place a team of legal and supervisory personnel to investigate the incident. The two individuals have been transferred from their current posts, and will be punished following the results of the investigation.
Army Command will conduct a thorough review with regard to any senior servicemen should they fail to act in an appropriate and respectful manner and cause disruption. Command will also hold a meeting on sexual harassment following law and procedures, and deal with any such incidents in a serious and fair manner to protect the rights and interests of the parties involved.
