Ministry of National Defense Statement on the PRC’s Carrier Rocket Launch

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated that at 2037 hours today (June 20), the People’s Republic of China (PRC) conducted a satellite launch mission using a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province. The rocket’s flight path traversed central Taiwan’s high-altitude airspace toward the western Pacific Ocean, at an altitude outside the atmosphere, posing no hazard to Taiwan. The Republic of China (ROC) Armed Forces employed integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems to closely monitor the situation and maintained appropriate vigilance and readiness to respond.
