The MND released a press statement to explain "the open call of the National Defense Innovation Task Force."

    The Ministry of National Defense (MND) announced today (Feb. 24) that through the Government E-Procurement System, the National Defense Innovation Task Force is publicly calling for proposals submitted from private companies regarding the following three projects: "Intelligent Warehouse Management System," "AI Automatic Recognition of Satellite Imagery," and "Smart Combat System with Augmented Reality." This initiative aims to accelerate innovation and application in national defense.

    The MND stated that the National Defense Innovation Task Force is established in light of the rapidly changing environment in modern battlefield and the thriving development of private commercial technologies. The goals are to integrate mature and innovative capabilities of the private sector into the national defense and military fields, assist in developing the technologies and products required by the R.O.C. Armed Forces through its unlimited potential, innovative thinking, and professional expertise, and expand the use of private technological solutions in response to emerging defense challenges.

    The MND explained that this is the first open call made by the National Defense Innovation Task Force, which serves as one of the strategies of business evaluation and diverse acquisition. The collection targets at technologies of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), automation equipment, data analysis, and augmented reality (AR), with a view to enhance the effectiveness of military operations and readiness by rapid development and technologies implementation.

    Regarding the three projects called, the MND stated that interested companies are welcome to visit the Government E-Procurement System for more information and application procedures. The National Defense Innovation Task Force will also hold an orientation and conduct the second-round selection for the submitted proposals.
