 Four.    Press Conference Reference Material:

  1. The 2024 Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo is organized by the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Taipei City Government. The Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo has been organized 8 times since its creation in 2016, with the latest addition to be held from December 5-8 (Thu.-Sun.). The 4-day expo will be held at Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX 1).
  2. The 2024 Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo has invited hospitals and medical institutions nationwide, as well as domestic and overseas medical corporations, research institutions, and academic research units. Members from the ROC military’s health system were also invited to participate. To highlight the distinctiveness of the military medical system and align with the progress made in medical policies, units of the Medical Affairs Bureau (14 units; including the National Defense Medical Center, Armed Forces Medical Supplies Office, and military hospitals of all levels) will participate by setting up a booth at the 1F “Medical Institutions” exhibition area. The booth will showcase the unique features of the military’s medical system, achievements in its smart hospitals, innovation in research and development, and accomplishments in military medicine. This event enables the military to elevate its standing among people by facilitating positive interactions with the public.

  2. Exhibition theme:
  1. Booth name: Military Health System Exhibition
  2. Special themes and presentation:
  1. Special themes include military medicine, advanced technologies, and innovative medical care.
  2. Forty themes will be present at the Expo (Appendix 1), among them being the National Defense Medical Center’s “Intelligent System for Detecting Patients Detached From Ventilators” and the Tri-Service General Hospital’s “Saving the Severely Wounded Under Heavy Enemy Fire - Advanced Surgery Team ” and “Intelligent Glasses Integrate AI technology into Chemotherapy Agent Modulation ”.
  3. Main stage talk: The themes will be presented using posters, video exhibits, physical items, actual experiences, and keynote speeches. 
  4. During the 4-day exhibit, Dr. Ke Hung-yen, Director of the Tri-Service General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Surgery Division, will be giving a presentation on “Passing Forward Love: Heart Transplants -Organ Care System” and 16 other medical health seminars (Appendix 2). In addition, there will be opportunities to win prizes by answering questions correctly.
  5. Hands-on experience theme: The Tri-Service General Hospital will present “Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation’s War on Stroke” and 8 other themes. The public will be free to experience the latest medical technologies.
  6. Anyone who visits the booth and checks in the Medical Affairs Bureau’s Facebook page by scanning the QR code will receive a free gift.

The ROC military’s military health system is proud to be invited to the 2024 Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo and aspires to demonstrate its distinctiveness, achievements in intelligent hospitals, innovation in research and development, and accomplishments in military medicine - staying true to its ethos of “Strengthening the military for the nation, leading the way for medical advancements”. By facilitating positive exchanges between the public and the military, people from Taiwan and overseas can better understand the latest advancements made by the ROC military in pandemic prevention medicine, medical features, and biotechnological development, thereby projecting it as a force of positivity.
