Date: 20:00, November 19, 2024
In response to media reports of a suspected patent infringement in the T112 rifle’s autoloader, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated on November 19 that the autoloader is an accessory of the T112 rifle and that the 205th Arsenal of the Armaments Bureau had been entrusted with organizing the tendering process. The tender documentation specifications required the autoloader to be of equivalent quality to those of the Israeli company Maglula or other comparative products. However, several contractors provided samples that used proprietary technology without Maglula's authorization. Therefore, the MND has annulled the tenders to avoid subsequent infringement concerns and contract disputes.
The MND stresses that all procurements are conducted in accordance with the Government Procurement Act and are subject to strict specifications and reviews based on combat training needs to ensure the quality of equipment. The MND, therefore, asks for public support.
