MND Issues Statement Responding to Media Reports of Capable Individuals Being Assigned to Less Desirable Posts

On November 13, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) responded to media reports of capable individuals being assigned to less desirable posts. The MND states that all assignments are decided in accordance with the Act of Assignment for Officers and Non-commissioned Officers of the Armed Forces, after discussing and considering each person’s qualifications, the needs and length of the mission, as well as the availability of the position.
The MND noted that major changes were made due to the political warfare officers, Batch of 1994, reaching their tenure limit at the end of this year. However, all changes were in accordance with the principle of law-based administration and a systematic approach was adopted to assign individuals to positions that best suited their skillset.
