In response to media reports that "a sergeant major of the National Defense University fell into water and died", the National Defense University (NDU) stated today (10th) that a sergeant, whose surname is Lu, of the Political Warfare College was found dead from drowning near Guandu Bridge by a member of the public this morning. After the incident was reported to the police, police and paramedics arrived at the scene. The individual unfortunately did not have any vital signs. The college sent staff to the site for assistance.
NDU was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of its comrade, and will give all efforts to assist the deceased's family and the police with the investigation to clarify the cause of death.
