Wellington Koo (Lo Li-hsiung), Minister of National Defense, went to the MND Response Center today (25th) and listened to reports on the trends and developments of Communist forces around the Taiwan Strait, and agreed to lift the establishment of response centers at all levels and restore the Combat Information Center to normal operations as suggested by Admiral Mei Chia-shu, Chief of General Staff. In addition to affirming and commending all officers and soldiers for their dedicated combat readiness, Minister Koo also reminded everyone to continue to accumulate experience and sagacity as they persistently build actual combat capabilities, and work closely with national security teams, such as the coast guard, to jointly ensure our security and national defense.
Accompanied by the Chief of General Staff Mei, Executive Officer General Cheng, and other cadres, Minister Koo listened to developments in sea and air space, the status of combat readiness, and analysis of public opinions. During the visit, he affirmed that cadres of various levels are doing reconnaissance for advanced warning in response to CCP military exercises. Minister Koo also considered that it is effective to stabilize and calm the feelings of the general public to pre-emptively dominate the cognitive battlefield as we work to protect freedom and democracy.
Minister Koo further reminded cadres of all levels that as enemy threats develop, there may be increasing actions in the gray zone reflecting the CCP's attempts to turn the Taiwan Strait into an inland sea. The Armed Forces must continue to accumulate response experience and adopt innovative thinking to enhance its combat capabilities. Furthermore, military troops shall also work closely with national security teams and dominate the cognitive battlefield to jointly defend freedom and democracy and safeguard our national security.
