In response to media reports about "the recall of flying officers of the Air Force on the Presidential Inauguration Day" and "the Armed Forces upgrade combat readiness," the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (20th) that the Armed Forces will continue to monitor developments around the Taiwan Strait during the course of the presidential inauguration. At present, the forces have maintained normal operations, and there has been no requirement to "upgrade combat readiness."

Following an investigation, the MND stated that the Air Force had not "recalled all flying officers to standby status," and combat readiness personnel and related operations remained normal. During the course of the presidential inauguration, the Armed Forces will continue to adopt joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance measures to stay abreast of CCP military activities, and respond according to the Regulations on Handling Emergency Situations by the Armed Forces during Regular Combat Readiness and the Combat Readiness Regulations for Taiwan-Penghu Defense Operations by the Armed Forces.
